Felsina Berardenga Chianti Colli Senesi

Medium Red Wines
A key difference between this wine and the Castello di Farnetella Chianti Colli Senesi is that the fruit for this wine comes from the Felsina estate at the border of the Chianti Classico zone, and the fruit for the Castello di Farnetella CCS comes from that estate which is about 30 minutes south of the Felsina estate. 2015 Vintage Scores:
The 2015 Chianti Colli Senesi Berardenga is a tonic, almost crunchy red wine with an impressive level of fruit purity. Remember that part of the Sangiovese blend that makes the iconic Toscana IGT Fontalloro sees fruit sourced from this very same site. This property in the Chianti Colli Senesi appellation produces fruit that is linear, crisp and bright. The vines are getting old enough now to show more nuanced complexity in their fruit. This is a very interesting wine that will drink beautifully for the upcoming years.

Staff Review:
A true expression of the Sangiovese grape; juicy dark fruits up front followed by earthy herbs and great acidity on the finish.
